Question PCIe 3.0 for Maximus iv Exteme z

Hi

Was there ever a Bios update for this motherboard to get PCIe 3.0

Reason I asked my phenom x4 955 2009 Gigabyte had support for my R9 270x

Yet I've just purchased a 2011 i7 2600k & maximus iv exteme z and I can't use this card.

I'm I stuck with using lowly PCIe 2.0 with this high end board😕

It shouldn't matter for a GPU like that.

I know...but I did install the R9 270x into the Maximus and it failed to work ( fans did spin, but no image on screen ) .

Then I put in a rubbish 9500GT and it worked.

Take it I can't use a PCIe 3.0 cards in the Maximus

Just rubbish cards with less power than r270x😮
