So let me start out by saying I'm by no means an expert at building computers, This is my first build, so why not ask the experts here on the Tom's Hardware forum, right? 😀
I've fallen in love with this new GPU: the Radeon R7 270X (see link below). Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to have the highest performance under $200. The problem is, it's a PCIe 3.0 card, and apperently AMD motherboards w/ PCIe 3.0 don't exist*. I could put it on a quad-core intel w/ motherboard, but that would be significantly more expensive.
So my question is this: If I put this card in an AMD motherboard using a PCIe 2.0 slot, would I be facing some serious bottleneck issues?
Just for further reference, I'm trying to build a battlefield 4 machine for around $750, I'm thinking the final product will look something like the one in this Forbes article. It's been my main inspiration so far, and it's also where I learned about the Radeon R7 270X:

*I've found one exception to the AMD PCIe 3.0 motherboards. However, it's not cheap, and I've read a lot of grumbling that PCIe 3.0 slots simply aren't compatible with AMD processors:
