Hi folks,

I've recently purchased a new drive thinking that my motherboard would support its full bandwidth, but it seems Amd pulled support for pcie4 from the BIOS a while back.

I have an Asus x470 motherboard and the new Corsair mp600 pro xt drive. It runs in pcie3 mode and crystal disk mark gives pretty much the same result as my old drive. (Addlink s70)

Another reason for the upgrade was more capacity, so the new drive is 2tb where the old one was 1tb.

I'm a bit disappointed and now I'm wondering if the upgrade is worth it. Would I be better off looking for a cheaper 2tb nvme drive? Is the new drive worth having on an x470 board? Performance seems the same and benchmark results are the same, but i couldn't tell the difference in games loading fraction of a second sooner.

I don't want to upgrade the CPU and motherboard at this point, but i most likely will when the next gen Ryzen is released later this year.

Any advice would be appreciated!
