My motherboard has 2 M.2 slots , One is x4 and x2 , the x4 can support NVME and SATA SSDs both but the x2 supports only NVME.
And now im having 2 SSDs, one is WD Green 240 gb SATA SSD but M.2 Form factor and another one is Samsung 980.
Now the problem is that i cannot use the WD Green on the x2 since it supports only NVME , so i had to put the samsung there and WD in x4 which reduces the performance of the samsung ssd significantly.
Im planning to buy this adapter-https://www.electronicscomp.com/waveshare-pcie-to-m.2-adapter-supports-raspberry-pi-compute-module-4?gclid=CjwKCAjws8yUBhA1EiwAi_tpEUy1hl8wHskhWie-UofUCUpLfA1ktVKdVYUA_rQ6qy-Afnn7KamDJBoCE_UQAvD_BwE

Which will convert the PCIE X1 to M.2 where i will use the WD GREEN.
Now the question is will this support the WD Green SATA SSD M,2 Form factor ?
My motherboard is B450 Aorus Elite.
