I had an old 6850 GPU that died and i purchased an RX 580. I have a 750W PSU that has 2x6 pin connectors that were used to power the 6850.

The RX 580 requires 1x8 pin connector to power it, my question is can i use a single 6 to 8 pin adaptor, or will i require a 2x6 to 8 pin adaptor?

Thanks in advance

It may have a bad reputation for others, but I've had no issues with it.

If i am to purchase an adaptor, will i require either a 1x6 pin to 8 pin connection, or a 2x6 pin to 8 pin connection?

Don't recommend it but 2x6 to 8.

Hi, sorry for the follow up question, is there any difference from a 6+2 to achieve an 8 pin, or just a connection that is strictly 8 pin?
