Hey guys,

one BIG question since I read on gamestar about it.

My wife just started playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC today. And Within the same time gamestar posted an article regarding framedrop issues.

I read through it and they found out that some nVidia cards only use 4 pcie lanes instead of 16. So we checked our rigs as well with GPU-Z and what should I say....

My >older< PC with an Radeon VII and a B450 board uses PCI x16 3.0 standard.
My wifes >newer< PC with an Radeon 5500 XT uses PCI x8 3.0 standard (even tho it supports 4.0, but not the board)

Both of us has an M2 installed, and my guess is, that her M2 is taking "too much" lanes for the M2.

Any guesses/workarounds?

The 5500xt is a PCI-E 4.0 x8 card. Regardless of standard, that you run it at, it will only be an x8 speed. The only way you can get it to run at its full potential/PCI-E 4.0, is with a zen2, ryzen 3000 CPU, and a B550, or x570 motherboard.
