Question PCIe Cable With VGA Cable?

Hello,

I am building my first computer currently, I noticed when installing my power supply (EVGA 750W BQ) to my case that I have only one PCIe cable (8 pin) with a 6 pin pigtail. The power supply comes with multiple VGA cables that look exactly like the PCIe cable with the exact same pigtail. My graphics card (MSI Radeon 6750 XT Trio) has 2x8 pin headers. My question is, can I use the PCIe cable and a VGA cable on my graphics card? And what exactly do the VGA cables do? I have seen two different answers on the internet, that the VGA cable is to power a monitor, and that it could be used just like the PCIe cable.

In terms of labelling on a PSU, VGA = PCIe, they're the same thing. Either 6, 6+2 or 8 (or combination of any)

If you've got an 8pin with a 6 pigtailed, you need to run two PCIe (aka "VGA") cables, and use the 8 from each.
