I ordered a second 6970 to crossfire with off ebay for cheap and realized I lost a few of the cables that came with my PSU over the last few years. I have an antec earthwatts 750. So i ordered a replacement antec cable thats 8 pin to 2x 6+2 pin off ebay as well. Turns out that if that cable is plugged in the system won't boot. I can put my other cable that is a 6 pin to 6+2 +6 pin into that same slot (only one 8 pin socket on the PSU that has a diagram showing where to plug in 6 pin connections, the other modular pcie slots are both 6 pin and both work as well with my original cable) and power one of the cards with it. How often are these cables faulty or is there something else that is more likely to be causing the problem here?
