Question PCIE Firewire Card Works Only on PCIE X16 Slot

Hello, I have a problem in which I have installed a pcie x1 firewire card on my pc and the pc doesnt post if I put it on pcie x1 or the second pcie x16 (that works at x4). If i put the card at the pcie x16 slot, the pc posts, boots into windows and the card works normally. The card uses molex for power which i have connected with two different molex cables from the psu but I think that it doesnt matter as the card works on pcie x16 so I think its something else that is causing the problem.

The system has a gigabyte z77m d3h motherboard, i5 3330 cpu, 2x4 transcend 1333mhz ram, amd hd 7770 fpu amd the firewire card is the following:
