Hello friends! I purchased a PCIe adapter for an M.2 NVMe SSD. I already had one space on my board but decided why not get a second one instead of just upgrading the one to more storage. I'm having trouble getting the PC to recognize it. It has power. I will attach the specs below for all of it. Does anyone know what I must do to make it recognize this as a storage device?

Make sure, you have installed motherboard chipset drivers.

Then install NVME drivers.
You can get them from Gigabyte windows USB install tool.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Utility?kw=windows&p=1

Note - it doesn't matter if your motherboard is not from Gigabyte. NVME drivers are generic.
Also do not get confused about windows 7. Drivers work for windows 10/11 as well.

Download any windows USB install tool (motherboard chipset doesn't matter).
Extract zip file.
Find \WindowsImageTool\StorageControllers\Intel_NVMe\Driver64
Right click on inf file and choose...
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

BIOS version for your motherboard? What do you have populating your other PCIe slots? What processor did you pair with the board?

Also thanks for the welcome :)

You can also choose Samsung NVME driver, if you want to.

I had no success after doing these 🙁 am I missing something?

have a look at the disk management tool of windows. Is your SSD found there? initialize and format to use it.

in which PCIe slot did you install the adapter?

try beta BIOS version 3.46
Doesn't show up there I've tried a few times. Checked device manager to see if it shows up as storage and doesn't. I've tried all the slots on thr board haha. I will attempt the Bios later when I get home. This should have been an easy install right?

Some reason now it works... I think it was all the updates you guys gave me. I swear this computer has been one twice since all the updates. This time when I visited disk management it asked what I wanted to do with it.
