PCIe PCI-e Power Cable for Graphics card

Hi guys,

Just looking for some help here on a issue regarding trying to find a cable to run the power supply for the graphics card. My nephew has a standard gaming computer which he had purchased from overclockers at christmas. He has now upgraded his graphics card to this

and we cant seem to find the correct cable to power it up. It came with the standard PCI Express 6-Pin to 4-Pin molex Power Adaptor and the psu does not accommodate for this fitting. See fitting below.

His Psu requires either a 8 pin pci express or a 6 pin pci express, the psu is similar to this one below.

Any help would be great thanks in advance.

The corsair 600 comes with the cable you need. It will have a 6pin + 2pin configuration. The other end will be keyed to fit in the pci e connector on the psu.

That power supply comes with the cable you need. It looks like this:

Just plug the 6-pin into the card and let the 2 pin hang next to it! Hope this helps!

Sorry his PSU is similar to the PSU I linked, but there are no spare PCI express cables attached to his, so this is the reason we are stuck. Thanks

Make and model of the psu?

Are you also saying that the psu does not have two of the molex connectors on one of the leads?

sorry for the late reply I couldnt get access to the computer in questions to get the details of the PSU etc. I have taken Photos so as to show what type of cable connections I am looking for

Your card needs a standard 6 pin pci-e connector. Your psu has semi modular capability, and you should have a bag of additional cables. The row of black sockets on the top of your psu are power ports for various cables - find a port that says pci and find the cable that plugs into that port. The port may very well have 8 pins, and the cable may have a connector that is configured as a 6 pin plus an additional 2 pin. Just use the 6 pin portion of the cable (let the additional 2 pin dangle) and you should be good to go.
