Question Pcie running at 3x2 not 3x4

Hi there, i own an ASUS z370-e motherboard and recently installed a samsung 970 pro into it. My board claims to support 3x4 pcie however my ssd is running at 3x2. Anyone know why

only other ports on my mobo that are being used are the PCIe 3.0 x 16 for my gpu and 1 sata 6G port for my hdd, my ssd is in the top m.2 slot

i just went into my bios and changed my pcie bandwidth from 2x to 4x do you know if this will affect any other aspects of my pc?
