Hello! Sorry if it's in wrong section.

So I have a crappy integrated GPU, so I was thinking of buying a discrete card. I searched up my Motherboard, and this is what it says for my PCI Slots

1 * PCI Express x16 (1.1)
1 * PCI Express x1 mini card
2 * PCI Express x1
1 * PCI

I'm guessing what I need is the PCI Express x16. I want to buy the nVidia Geforce GT 630. It specifies that I need a PCIe Slot x16 3.0. Is that the slot that I have? Or is that a different slot? I was told that the PCI Express x16 slot is the same. I just need to update my BIOS. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You would need at least pcie 2.0, otherwise it physically will not fit.

Huh?

hottsauce, you should be ok. You have a x16 vers 1.1 slot so any PCIe video card will physically fit. There are rumors online about 2.1 cards having issues in 1.0 slots. You might want to consider buying a 2.0 card, but you'll probably be ok. I have yet to see the rumor be proved and you have 1.1. Don't expect much from the 630 as its not a gaming card. You might want to list your resolution, PSU info, and budget as we might have better ideas for you.

So I'm good with the PCIe slot.
My monitor resolution is 1600x900. I have a 250w power supply. The Geforce requires 300w, but I was told the 250w is good enough. My budget is no where past $60. I don't need a really good card, just something that's good enough to play decent games.
