Question PCIe to nvme adapter on Asus old MB

Hi guys,I have the following issue. I have an Asus M4N98TD EVO motherboard with a GTX 980ti installed in the PCIe slot. In the remaining free PCIe slot, I have installed a PCIe x4 NVMe adapter glotrends (PA09-HS) with a Lexar NM620 SSD 2TB, M.2 2280 nvme Gen 3 SSD. Everything works fine, and I can boot Windows from that. However, the nvme is recognized as a PCIe Gen 1.0 even though the slot is Gen 2. Consequently, the speed is only 850 MB/s. I was expecting at least double that.

Can you help me?

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Curious, what BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard?

Consequently, the speed is only 850 MB/s

that speed you're referring to is a theoretical speed, it'll always be lower than that by a small percentage.

Hi Lutfij,

thank you!

The BIOS is version 1301, the latest available.

Actually, the problem is not so much the speed itself, but the fact that it is recognized as Gen1.0 while the disk is Gen3.0, and the PCIe slots are 2.0, so I would expect it to be recognized as 2.0. I am attaching a screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo.

Thank you again
