PCIE Wifi Card Extender?

Hello, Im at uni so im forced to use Wifi. and got 50 down and 0.9 upload. So i tested out a different card, a TP link one. For some reason i only get 10 down 10 up. The WiFi antennas are now round the back of the PC, so im wondering if this has anything to do with it. The Asus one came with some weird extender but i cant seem to find anything like it to buy by itself. Can anyone help me? Thanks

I know you can find single antennas easy enough, but if your card is running multiple antenna you may have a hard time finding an all in one unit and just have to buy a few singles.

hoping this would change that, im now getting 10 download and 10 upload. The only difference I can see is the extender thing that comes with the wifi card. Im at uni and cant really do much to the router. Is there anything i can do to improve my speeds?

Oh just noticed that they're all 2.4Ghz units. The 2.4Ghz ranger is wider, so that may be the best bet if you're trying to cover a large range.

Another option if you're trying to cover a wide range without losing a lot of speed would be to look in to powerline with wifi adapters. Powerline is going to give you a better connection and adds a wifi extension. The only real downside would be the cost. I'd check out these kits:
