So ive just bought myself a PCIe wifi card so i could get a reliable wifi adapter instead of tethering from my phone. I ran into a problem of my GPU taking up all the PCIe slots with its triple slot size, cooler and all.. So i decided to try something stupid. I had a M.2 to PCI riser card avaiable, and i decided to connect the PCIe wifi card with that adapter instead. Thing is when i tested it and installed the drivers from their website, i didnt get any wifi adapter on my system. It did install the bluetooth connection though, but since the bluetooth is managed via the internal usb connector that connects to the card (i think?), means that would probably work as long as its connected to the card and the card has a powersource, either connected to a pcie slot or not. Or at least thats my best guess so far. Now im wondering if getting the wifi adapter to work with this connection is even possible? Ive seen online that M.2 slots are basically PCI connections (or atleast thats the dumb version) , so im guessing the driver isnt expecting there to be any PCIe wifi card in the m.2 slot, so it skips checking probably? If not, could i get this to work possibly?

Other alternative i have is removing the fans on my GPU so i can fit this PCIe card into the correct slot, but that means i would need to mount some other fans to compensate for the whack cooling for my GPU. OR i could get a PCIx16 riser and mount my GPU further away from the PCIe slots, but that wouldnt be preferable since im traveling alot with this computer and i wouldnt like to have a bad mounting solution for my heavvy GPU.

For reference, this is the card im using: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/adapter/archer-tx3000e/
And this is the riser card im using (or at least very similar to this, same connections, etc.): https://www.ebay.com/i/273986294382
