PCIe (x16 mode, gray) what does it mean?

so i was reading the specs of ASUS H110-PLUS

and im a little confused about the PCIe section it says

1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 mode, gray)
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1
3 x PCI

what does the ''Gray'' mean? does it mean a gpu would run at a slower bandwidth?

Well gray likely means the slot on your motherboard they are talking about is the color grey lol. You would put your gpu in the grey pcie 3.0 x16 slot, which is probably the top slot closest to your cpu.

Look at the picture. The x16 slot is actually gray. The only gray slot on it.
