PCIex16 question

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4N68TM/ Link to my motherboard. I was wondering if I got a card that was PCIe 2.0 would it fit into my PCIe x16 slot and run just fine?

PCIe 2.0 cards are generally backward compatible with PCIe 1.1 motherboards, using the available bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1 only.

PCIe 1.1 has only half the data rate and transfer rate of PCIe 2.0.
