PCKeeper Removal Help

Greetings! Me being a moron I made the mistake of downloading questionable files, and while I'm pretty careful to make sure I'm not installing extra garbage, some things still got through. One program in particular I can't seem to get rid of is PCKeeper, some kind of system optimizer. I go into Remove Programs, find it in the list, and begin the uninstallation process, but when it gets to the dialogue window "Please wait while Windows configures PCKeeper...", like it does on other uninstallation processes, but it will sit on this window indefinitely, letting me only click on cancel, which also locks up the uninstall process. I left it running all night to see if it ever finished but it didn't. The computer works fine otherwise, I just want this junk off of my machine. I tried deleting the registry stuff as well but to no avail. If anyone can help me out that would be awesome! Thank you.

1.Try uninstalling it in safe mode. This usually works because all other program processes are shut down

2.Open msconfig. Check the startup tab and delete/disable/remove the entry for that program

3.It could be malware. Download and run malwarebytes full scan in safe mode with networking to remove the malware

Great, it worked! The uninstall was successful when performed in safe mode. Just to be safe I did run Malwarebytes and it found and deleted some junk that was hiding in the bowels of the machine. Best of all I learned a couple things. Thanks Reyaz.
