Some Intel H81 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs

motherboard:Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
cpu:Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core OEM/Tray Processor

Solution
The 4790k is a Haswell refresh CPU, like the 4690k, 4590, 4460, etc. Some H81 boards were released before those CPUs, so, you'll maybe need to update your BIOS to support them. That board is actually a very bad choice for the CPU, get a Z97 board so you can overclock it and you'll not have any problem with BIOS updates.
