[SOLVED] PCs from Costco

Solution
Like NightHawkRMX said that RAM won't do it for a Ryzen 3600.

It might even be 1 stick of 16GB which would run in Single Channel and that 2400MHz speed is the speed you would have seen on intel system from a few generations back.

For a Ryzen 3600 3200MHz or 3600MHz RAM should be used.

No way of knowing the brand and model of the SSD, HDD, PSU, Board (MSI board but which one). Don't know the cooler either.

The only good thing is the price because of that GPU. A 1660TI used is selling at 400 dollars right now. So imagine a new one.

When I can't see what kind of parts is inside (Brand and model) I normally stay away from a pre-built.
Few things stand out to me about that particular model:
  • 2400mhz ram is going to reduce performance versus faster ram.
  • The cooler looks pretty wimpy, but probably is sufficient.
  • Unknown PSU
Honestly, it doesn't look like a bad computer, you likely could do much worse.

I have no experience buying from Costco personally, but its just Costco reselling a model made by MSI, its not like its a Costco branded computer.

Beware not all costcos carry all things on the website. I know our costco don't have the PC (just looked 3 days ago).

However I will say if you just want a standard computer, Costco warranty makes it worth getting it from them (if you don't' want to buy from a local mom&pop)

If you have a local shop, and go talk to somebody and buy this or that cooler etc. You can get it more custom.

Also if you live close to MC they can do that as well.

Just some options for you.

Hi,

So I need to buy a new pc. Looking at this one: https://www.costco.com/msi-codex-z-...--geforce-gtx-1660-ti-.product.100701348.html

Anyone have any experience with pre-built PCs from Costco? I'm attracted to this one because it has a 1660 Ti, which is the best card I can hope for at this time for that price. The specs look good to me, but I'd like a second opinion.
Looks like an ok deal, although there are a few unknown parts in there. The same system sells for almost $1300 at Newegg right now so Costco price is pretty good..
