Question PC's front audio jack seems to be broken.

My earphones were working fine until yesterday but today they started playing sound on the right side only. If I pull the earphones out slightly instead of keeping them fully inserted, then audio starts playing on the left side only. Earphones work fine on other devices. I checked the balance level, etc in the settings and everything is normal. Does this mean there's something wrong with my pc's audio jack? If so, what can I do about it? Should I buy a usb audio adapter and start using that instead or is there anything else I can do? Thanks.

Make and model of the headset in question? Have you tried both the front and the rear panel audio connectors(assuming your headset is an analog driven, PC based headset).
