Pcxs2 emulator running slow

Hi i am currently using Pcxs2-r5350 with dark cloud and it is slow at some parts(down to 30fps). it is really annoying and my pc's processor should be able to handle it.. heres my specs:
AMD Phenom ii X4 945 Processor 3.00Ghz
6.00 GB Ram
64 bit windows 7
Ati Radeon HD 4800 series

i have fps limited to 60 because it jumps beyond 100 at some spots if i dont. Im thinkin its a bad copy of the game or something in the pcxs2 settings. Thanks in advance

install a stable release


this is a beta version of the emulator


because the ps2 hasn't been completely reverse engineered it is really inefficient

when i last checked it couldnt use more than 2 cores of a cpu.


add some of the speed hack options this will make it run smoother. you might need to tinker with a few settings to get it to play nicely with your particular game

my cpu usage got as high as 54% at the laggy parts.
what is a stable release? can you suggest one? and also unfamiliar with speed hacks

What about GPU usage during laggy parts? You can check that using MSI afterburner.
