[SOLVED] PDF questions...

Hello,
Two questions:
1)I have been experimenting with file conversions from .docx to .pdf lately in the work to find out that although some single pages convert OK from the .docx file, when I merge them they have problem (some lines are scrambled or missing). Why is that?
2) Can I edit a converted .pdf file the way I can with a .doc file? For example I'm interested into the second half of the second page. Can I delete all the previous stuff and have the part I'm interested on top of the page? I tried some online pdf editors and it doesn't seem to work...

What are you converting WITH? Fact is, some word documents simply don't convert well and others do. Why? Who knows? Likely it's because MS word supports some features not supported in most or all PDF editors and readers, and visa versa. I have issues sometimes going the other way as well, from PDF to Word.

I've used about everything out there including several of the full versions of Adobe Acrobat, and this is what I use now exclusively because it basically does everything you could want in a full featured PDF editor, plus it's free, and much more robust than anything online.

Try Libre Office Draw or Writer to import PDF files.

If you're on Windows, there's a print to PDF function. It acts like a printer, but instead saves the document as a PDF.

So if you still can edit the original file, I find this the way to go when converting to PDF.

Printing to PDF uses the exact same process as converting to PDF unless the document contains "Rich content" such as hyperlinks, multimedia, bookmarks, TOC, and so on. Also, for most of the documents that I've used Print to PDF on, once you open the created document in your PDF editor the text that was created is not editable.
