I've got a 2+ year old PDR-M4 camera and the Mode Dial has fallen off
as so ***MANY*** others have. After searching and searching, I found
ERC and another Toshiba authorized site and contacted them. They
replied that they no longer stock that item.

If there is such a problem with this mode dial, how could a
responsible company quit making a replacement part! Isn't bad enough
that they had a flawed design and make us consumers pay to replace the
defective part?

Where could I find this item? I've got a decent digital camera here
that is just useless!

Thanks for any help (if there is any),

- Todd

I saw someone who used to make posts a while back. I dont think he
found a solution either.

Since its been around for a while , I see a review way back in 1999
for the camera --- you might want to think about just buying a new
one. If you live in the US theres a Fuji 2 meg a205 I think its called
for 99 or so at amazon usually free shipping and Ive seen an online
coupon for office depot for 20 off their sometimes 99 price making 80
with free delivery if you live near a office depot or pickuip.

The thing is you have to look it up by SKU the camera wont come up
with a casual search and sometimes they raise the price to 120 to
oiffset the coupon. A few weeks ago when I checked it was 99.

Saw this at one site a while back but the post was made in 2002 so
they may not have the parts anymore if Toshiba doesnt have them.
If you cant fix it yourself and one poster mentioned $100 to fix it or
more then I would just buy another camera . Theres lots of them for
100-160 nowadays.

After a bit of a search, I found replacement function selector knob
assemblies.

Toshiba Part Number: 23445460
Vendor : www.hermanpanson.com
Phone : 1(800)938-4376
Price : $26.66
Shipping : $ 7.95
Total : $34.64

Toshiba also recommended a vendor at 1(800)522-7835
