Pen drive cannot display .jpg files

My son has saved many .jpg files in a Lexar USB pen drive, by using his Mac computer. When I received it and open with Windows, there is this message that says I must reformat the pen drive. I feel like urgggggggggg. Can anybody help me out? Thank you -.

Mac probably has the drive formatted in a different way than your pc expects it to be.
