Hi,

Imagine this card would exist:

Pentad Prism
{2}
Artifact
Sunburst (This comes into play with a charge counter on it for each
color of mana used to pay its cost.)
Remove a charge counter from Pentad Prism: Add one mana of any color
to your mana pool.

Could I get 3 charge counters on PP by paying 3 different colors with
a Glowrider in play?

Glowrider
{2}{W}
Creature -- Cleric
2/1
Noncreature spells cost {1} more to play.

thanks,
David

So basically a mechanic named after Emblazoned Golem? Except it's not named
after it?

Glowrider makes you pay one more mana for noncreature spells. Which if
this noncreature artifact's mana cost were 2, would make you pay 3 to cast it.
And I see no particular reason why each point of the three points of mana
could not be a different color.

Similarly, if cast while a Helm of Awakening was affecting it, you wouldn't
be able to get more than one charge counter on it.

I would expect so. However, it would depend on the exact rules text of
this hypothetical Sunburst ability. That reminder text is rather
lacking in details. (Each distinct color? Each mana that was colored?
Does it count additional/alternative costs?)

Asking rules questions about rumored cards can sometimes be an
exercise in futility until Wizards posts the set's FAQ.

I would say yes, because "its cost" doesn't just refer to its "converted mana
cost"...it refers to all costs, including those added by other cards...
