So I broke the PC speaker in my Pentium 4. Do you know if there is a driver for Windows 98 that will reroute the sound from the speaker to my sound card?

whats using the pc speaker? generally, i've only seen old (like really old) DOS games use it, and generally they can be reconfigured to use the sound card.

I came across something recently(can't remember what) that used the PC beep if your soundcard did not work and then realized if mine failed that I may not be alerted to whatever it was. At the momement, I want it in case I need it in the future. But at the moment I think the best solution might be to take a speaker from another computer when I next get one for spare parts.

okay, i understand, but if you emulated your pc speaker through your soundcard, when the soundcard broke it would not work. HOWEVER, if you want to anyways, some soundcards do have a pc speaker header. there is no way to do it in software As far as i know.

Oh right if the sound card(or more likely the driver) acts up I have no sound, that's a no-brainer. Still would be nice to have a PC speaker emulator in case I need it in the future.
