i have pentium 3 desktop.. i think it has 256mb of ram
i'm trying to install windows xp but nothings happen
it always restarting
is it compatible?

Any Pentium III can run Windows XP, and 256MB of RAM isn't a problem; I have a 1.33GHz PIII with 512MB of RAM running XP SP2 with no issues. Sounds like the files on the install media are corrupted. Can you elaborate on what actually happens when you try to install it?

1) Just to confirm, you aren't pressing a key and causing it to restart because a prompt suggested it?

2) Install DVD might be corrupt.

3) Power supply, motherboard, system memory, hard drive (several pieces of hardware could cause install to fail)

4) 32-bit Linux might serve you much better depending on your goal. You could:

a) download the 32-bit Linux Mint Cinnamon distro: https://www.linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=218
b) RUFUS to create boot media https://rufus.akeo.ie/
c) boot to Linux disc or USB stick and run directly from that to test (there's a link on the desktop to allow you to install to an HDD or SSD)

Other:
Memtest86 can diagnose system memory www.memtest86.com

its just always restarting and can't finish installing xp
i don't know whats the problem of it
sometimes in other pc's.,if it is restarting or automatically shutdown
its just a program or
there are some floated capasitors on the motherboard
but this one, i don't see any floated capasitors
