After endless topics of people with Pentium 4 heat problems I decided to make a page that helps and explains the solution.

Thanks for putting together a useful site!

Best solution is to get a 90nm a64 , mine is at 35C under max load with stock cooler 8O.

Signature (up to 200 characters). You may use Markup in your signature

My friend has a scotty 3.4 with the intel approved case.

I don't call a 55C idle temp much consolation. That's still warmer than I like - I start thinking about improving cooling when that's my load temp  ..

Plus as his rig had no casefans, that also meant system temp was 52C, which again is just silly.

Obviously the approved case design is preferable to not having one, but it doesn't really solve anything - the damn things run too hot for enthusiasts.

Joe Blow however won't ever notice a problem, he'll just be blissfully unaware that his scotty is underclocking itself much of the time.

A64 3200+ Winchester @ 250x10= ~2.5Ghz, ~1.41 Vcore
1Gb @ 209Mhz, 2T, 3-5-5-10
Voltmodded Sapphire 9800Pro @ 450/350 w/ modded VGA silencer 3.

And there I was trying to be nice and everything.
