I don't personally have one but I know people that do. Its a sick processor if you OC it. At stock speeds, its not bad but if I had one, I would OC it as the potential is certainly there and its pretty fast.

It's a good chip, but at stock speeds will be outperformed by its AMD counterparts. Now if you're planning on overclocking that's the chip to go with. A friend of mine has one overclocked to 4.9GHz.

I've had one for a couple of weeks now and have been nothing but positivily impressed by it. Like alot of the other people said, it overclocks like crazy. Right now I just installed a phase cooling system and had it at 5.3 GHz (stable) and I am still trying to reach much higher speeds. If you want to OC, this is an extraordinary processor. But if I am not mistakin, The non-EE varient of that processor also performs quite well and is much cheaper.

Even if you get $500 off it could be a lousy deal. We don't know the details...

Christ, you always say that. The only game I've seen any results like this was Tom’s benchmark of F.E.A.R. in which they used Soft shadows with antialiasing. The game does not render softshadows correctly with antialiasing, so we can't even be sure those framerates were accurate.
I do believe the X1900 is the fastest card out, but you're always saying it's faster than two 7800 GTXs when this is not always the case.

I'd rather buy 7800 GTX, then 2 GT's.

If I was benchmark freak, I'd go with 1900 XT.

I would feel better with 7800 GTX 1st since I feel as though driver support is better.

That would be fine if you would at least say it. Yes the X1900 is a better deal for the performance, but in most games you won't see it beating two 7800GTX 512s.

You wouldn't say that if the X1900 wasn't out. When I bought my 7800GTs the X1900 wasn't out, so at the time it was the best price to performance; kicks the shit out of a 7800GTX 512 which was 750$ at the time and probably still is.
Also, Crossfire's performance isn't as good as SLI's right now.

I know that.

But two 512 GTX are not better than two X1900.
I'm saying that I'd rather have one card that is the best out right now, over two mid/high end cards like 7800GTs.

Guys guys guys (breaks them up before fists fly) this is about the Intel 955EE boys.....now play nice.......

All at 3000$?
Good bargain .
That there is a true kick ass computer. I too would change the 7800 GTX but anyway there isn't a thing your sistem can't handle.
A 955 EE is equal(or better) to a 4800 X2 at stock(with exception of games...) BUT when OCed it'll beat up pretty much everything(OCed or not).
Get some phase/water cooling while you're at it. Not only will it run fast but it will also be a lot of fun!
And if you decide on this way please post some results.
