What are the official normal temps for a Pentium D 820 AND 830 ??
Also what if I overclock a 820 to run on a 3.0 Clock , what temps should
i be under to not damage the cpu ???

good day

Not exactly sure, but I think you would like it to stay under 70 degrees, or it will throttle, and you should be able to run it under 60 with good cooling.
I don't think you can burn it up with a cooler installed tho, your performance hit, you may want to destroy it.

I hear a lot of different temps from different users. Generally, the Prescott chips tend to run around 60 C under load with properly applied stock cooling. The 830 of course had two cores so it can be a bit tougher to cool under load. Anything over 65 would be an alarm to me to get a better cooler. Also, if you see throttling with Throttlewatch, then it's time to invest in a better cooler.
