Hi Guys

I'm also new to overclocking, butI'm working on a office PC that is just too slow to run the engineering software that I need to. I noticed that my display card leaves a lot to be desired, and I'm looking to replace that, but I also noticed a lot written about my Pentium Dual Core E2180 being overclocked. Its currently running at 2Ghz.

Can I get it faster with my hardware? What else would you recommend to give this PC a kickstart?

My PC on CPU-Z looks like this...

Intel Pentium E2180
Windows XP Professional SP2 (Build 2600)
CPU Arch : 1 CPU - 2 Cores - 2 Threads
CPU PSN : Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz
CPU EXT : MMX, SSE (1, 2, 3, 3S), EM64T
CPUID : 6.F.D / Extended : 6.F
CPU Cache : L1 : 2 x 32 / 2 x 32 KB - L2 : 1024 KB
Core : Conroe (65 nm) / Stepping : M0

Freq : 2000.1 MHz (200.01 * 10)
MB Brand : ECS
MB Model : 945GCT-M2
NB : Intel i945G rev A2
SB : Intel 82801GB (ICH7/R) rev A1

GPU Type : NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
DirectX Version : 9.0c

RAM : 2048 MB DDR2 Single Channel
RAM Speed : 333.3 MHz (3:5) @ 5-5-5-15
Slot 1 : 2048MB (6400)
Slot 1 Manufacturer : Apacer Technology

Thanks!

I would put my cards in a better GPU. Even if you get the CPU to OC, are you going to get enough of a difference to make up for the software to work properly? I would guess the 400-800MHz you might squeeze out of the CPU isn't going to make the software run better. Work on a new GPU first.
