Hey I am not that good at processors. I wanted to know which processor is better?
Pentium E5700 3.0GHZ or the Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13 GHZ. The clock speed of the C2D is lesser but has double the L2 Cache and 300mhz FSB more than the E5700 therefore does this make any difference? Which one is better?

Solution
No, since they are both very similar in every other aspect. Cache contributes several percent at best. And FSB is basically irrelevant, except if you plan to overclock - in that case, lower FSB is better, as it leaves more room to play with :)

Since your motherboard supports Core 2 Quad CPUs, I would give up from both dual cores and just get a decent quad core, second-hand. They can be found for really cheap. If you can, get Q9550 or Q9650. You can pair 750ti with any of them. Heck, I used to run R9 280X with Q9950, ran BF4 maxed flawlessly.

Without overclocking, approximately 25-30%. E5700 is newer tech - 2010, 45nm litography, while Core 2 is from 2007, 65nm litography. The speed difference is mainly due to higher clock in E5700's favor, as not much has changed between them otherwise except newer litography and lower power consumption.

So do you think pairing it with GTX 750 ti would be a bad idea?

Not necessarily. It all depends on what games you intend to run. With older ones (2010-2013), I see no problem. With latest ones... much problems :)

If you are buying a CPU for your 775 board, better get a Core 2 Quad. They are very cheap and won't bottleneck you even remotely as much as pure dual cores. What mobo do you have?

What about the L2 Cache and Higher FSB that does not matter than much when compared to the E5700?
