Had my first go at overclocking today on a Pentium G3258 and seem to have managed a stable 4.5GHz @ 1.275v. Over three lots of ten consecutive runs on IntelBurn and two hours worth of Prime95, temperatures were consistently in the mid 50s to low 60s without any crashes or BSODs.
GPU temperatures were showing steady at 22-23 C during the entire test period.

Seeing as I don't see myself gaming for more than a couple of hours at a time, should I be content with that?

Yes. That's a good chip. I needed a lot more voltage to get to 4.5Ghz with one of mine, and the other one topped out at 4.2Ghz.

You can probably get to 4.6Ghz, but the voltage will be higher than I would like and the performance increase is very modest.

How did you do the overclocking? Software, or BIOS? If BIOS, Override, Adaptive, or Offset voltage control?

Well first of all I pushed the OC Genie button in the MSI bios and that got me to 4.2GHz @ 1.25v. Then I turned it off and used those settings as a starting point for some manual bios fiddling. I upped the multiplier straight to 45 and then upped the core voltage in small increments until IntelBurn said 'success'.

Yes! That is with all fans running at full blast. I found that if I set the bios to default speeds, the core temps were higher. I was thinking that I could probably use a couple of additional 140mm case fans on the side nearest the Hyper Evo 212 to blast more cool air into it.
