Hi
I know that g3258 is really good for gaming. But it is a dual core then why people are saying it is a awesome processor. OK I know it is a monster in over clocking but it is a dual core and many games require a quad core cpu(GTA V etc). And I read that games like GTA V , far cry 4, witcher 3, metal gear solid, etc will not run perfectly on a dual core pentium but I saw many YouTube videos running these games on g3258 without shuttering. So is the g3258 actually worth for modern games or just a processor with a awesome over clocking capacity. I also thought that why it is a budget CPU because it needs a decent mobo with a good CPU cooler and total cost is about equal to a decent i5. And will overclocking void warranty and if failed, damage other components?(GPU or PSU). (Building a PC and destroying with oc). And will g3258 will give decent fps if paired with gtx 750 ti or gtx 950 in games that I listed above? So buy a g3258 or buy a 4core amd CPU and be safe?
Thanks

if the only options you are giving me are the G3258 or a 4 core AMD then get the G3258 hands down, you will get ok framerate on the games above but not amazing. it would be better if you were to pair a GTX 950 with an i5 of somekind or even the I3-6100 would do a better job at those games than the G3258 would.

The g3258 is an ok processor, it's awesome because it's good for the price. Good for the price doesn't mean it's the best. More for older games or lower end games that only need a couple of processing cores to run. It was sold as a tribute to the old pentium cpu's (hence the anniversary edition title). For less than $70 you can get a nice little dual core cpu and it overclocks really well but at the end of the day it is what it is. A cheap dual core cpu.

Overclocking voids the warranty yes. If it were an i5 or i7 there's an additional protection plan available for sale from intel, extra insurance for pushing your cpu beyond the factory settings comes at a premium. The g3258 isn't listed though. Probably because the performance plan costs half what a new g3258 does, may as well just buy a new one. Overclocking doesn't fry the gpu though. It could potentially hurt the voltage regulators on the motherboard if you pushed it hard enough on a weak motherboard I suppose.

In just about every game the i3 will do better. The cost of an i3 with stock cooler is roughly the same as the cost of a g3258 and hyper 212 evo. If you're trying to get 60fps on all the latest games you'll need to consider an upper end cpu. If $65 cpu's could game all the top AAA games like the ones you mentioned no one would bother with $200-300 cpu's.

A quad core amd is around the same price maybe but won't give you much better performance. That's not 'being safe'. What sort of budget do you have? Do you need an entire system?

I am in a limited budget.
I don't want 60fps or more
I just want a solid 30fps. So a dual core pentium is better than 4 core fx?
If oc is not success will it damage other components

even on low/medium details this CPU will struggle to keep the 30 fps so to answer your question no, it wont run these games with your mentioned setup without shuttering.
