G4560 + RX 460 + Be Quiet System Power U9

For playing E-Sport games at 768p/900p/1080p (I only have 900p monitor atm, maybe I'll buy a Freesync monitor later), how long approximately will that combo last before the FPS drops below 60fps and I need to upgrade its CPU/GPU?

Solution

It's quite the low end system. Esports titles is a pretty vague criteria nowadays since every multiplayer game can be one nowadays.

In general gaming these lower end systems tend to last a couple years before you end up having to start seriously lowering settings to an unpleasant level or you just have framerate issues regardless. These lower end systems are most in trouble when a new console gen launches and the general graphics of most games take a huge leap causing these systems that can run current games well enough to now fall into min spec territory.

Approximately, will it last for at least 3-5 years? My main games are League of Legends and CS:GO and I don't mind playing on 720p. I'm still unsure between building a G4560 build and having to buy a new motherboard and CPU in the next few years OR building a G5400 build and won't have to change the mobo for i5 8400. Because what I call "upgrade" is to at least i5 8400. The price difference between G4560 build and G5400 build is quite large on my place

Maybe look into some first gen ryzen stuff? It's quite cheap now and has a big upgradepath.

My best deal is on the Intel side, Ryzen and Intel CPUs cost about the same in my county (Indonesia), plus ryzen does need a fast dual channel ram which price is unreasonable.

G4560 Build:
Pentium G4560 @$49
ASrock B150M Pro 4 @27 (Used, good condition, warranty on)
8GB DDR4 @47
Sapphire RX 460 2GB @74 (Used, good condition, warranty on)
Kingston A400 240GB @52
Be Quiet System Power U9 400w @44
Case @33
Total: $326

G5400 Build:
Pentium G5400 @$64
ASrock H310M HDV-M2 @65
8GB DDR4 @47
Sapphire RX 460 2GB @74 (Used, good condition, warranty on)
Kingston A400 120GB @29
Be Quiet System Power U9 400w @44
Case @33
Total: $356

Ryzen Build:
R3 2200G @$87
Asus A320 Prime-K @47
V-Gen Tsunami (2x4GB) 3200MHz @86
Sapphire RX 460 2GB @74 (Used, good condition, warranty on)
Kingston A400 120GB @29
Be Quiet System Power U9 400w @44
Case @33
Total: $400

My maximum budget is $355 / Rp. 5,300,000
Why did I consider the G5400 although the performance difference between G4560 and G5400 is barely noticeable? It's because I want to upgrade my CPU to i5 8400 / i7 8700 in the future without changing my mobo.

I would recommend the g5400 build so you aren't stuck on a platform who's I7's are matched by the next gen I5's (this also means you'll be able to get a cheaper used I5 that will perform the same as the old platforms I7's which will be more expensive due to it being the best cpu for the platform).

That's exactly my point! I'll build the G5400 build then, thanks for making me even more confident with my decision.

By the way, between MSI H310M Pro-VH, ASrock H310M-HDV, and Gigabyte H310-S2, which one has the best quality & features? Or which do you personally prefer between these 3 mobos?
