Pentium G4560 vs. Core i3 Software Compatibility

I have a friend who works from home. She uses the client's software which strictly states these processors DO NOT MEET the requirements: Intel Atom/Core M (5th -gen and below) /Celeron/Pentium; AMD E Series.

Processor requirements: Intel Core i3/i5/i7 Running 2.0 GHz base processor speed, AMD A-Series Processor (A6/A8/A10) running 2.0 THe base processor speed or higher.

I think they simply haven't updated their requirements in a few years. I

Is there some something those processors have that the Pentium G4560 wouldn't be able to do? Not just performance -wise but possibly security?

I asked if my friend could reach out to the company, but says they would simply state what the requirements are and that's it.

Solution
Only real difference between a G4560 and a 2C/4T i3 would be lack of AVX instruction support. To my knowledge, AVX is not typically used in most consumer/office software, and is more commonly found in science/engineering applications.

I would assume you were correct in your guess that they simply haven't updated their requirements recently, possibly to take into account newer Pentiums than have hyperthreading. Or they just don't want to have to worry about distinguishing between Pentiums with and without hyper threading, so they just leave them off entirely. Because unless the software needs AVX support (seems unlikely), there should be no difference between an HT Pentium and an i3.
