Pentium N3530 quad core vs intel i5 core dual core

Solution
The Pentium name has now been relegated to the Atom CPU series which are basically meant for tablets and entry level laptops. It is part of the Bay Trail generation of Atom CPUs. The Pentium N3530 is a low power consumption CPU that consumes around 7.5w.

It's performance would be almost equivalent to a 2nd generation Core i3 CPU. The laptop with the Core i5 you are looking at is a 4th generation Core i5-4210u CPU which is undoubtedly a more powerful CPU with a more powerful integrated graphics core.

Thanks I did not know that.

Don't know but here are the links to the two computers I am thinking of buying

The first one has the pentium chip and the second one the i5 core.

So it does not matter if the Pentium is a quad core and the i5 is a dual core?

Thank you,

so a 4th generation dual core i5 processor will beat a Quad core Pentium processor in this case?
