Hi,

I'm planning to buy a laptop with Pentium N3540 Processor (Quad Core) with GeForce 820m. then will replace the hard disk with an SSD (Samsung 850 Evo 256GB) and max the RAM (8GB).

Will this setup be better than purchasing a 5th gen Core I3 with 4GB RAM and normal HD?

Computer use will be for applications development, web and desktop.
Mostly Microsoft dev tools like Visual Studio.

Thanks!

I would go with the i3 as it is better for programming. I would still max the ram at 8 though. But beware that the i3 is not the best for intense programming. An i5 is the min in my opinion.
