Question Pentium still good enough?

In need of a cheap-ish laptop for schoolwork. I've had bad experiences with Celeron/Pentium laptops in the past, so I'm wondering if Pentium is enough for Office Suite and browsing on Windows 10 (or if it's good enough for anything, for that matter).

I think that it should be retired personally but if you do run with it you better get an SSD to replace the hard drive and put as much ram in as it as you can afford

That's what my concern was. A surprising amount of the laptops I've seen have small-capacity SSDs instead of hard drives, but there isn't much overlap with 8GB RAM and Pentium.

The Pentiums of the last few years are just fine for Office/surfing, etc...; get one with at least 6 GB of RAM...and preferably 8 GB ...
