When I get into a skype call (no mic plugged in), people can hear my audio that I play e.g. iTunes or YouTube. Also happens when I plug in my apple earpods to speak. Any solutions? Would re-installing the ASUS sound cards and all that fix it?

That isn't an issue mate. Same with mine too .. The other day I was listening to barbie songs when I got a call from dad .. he immediately pointed out and I was red from embarrassment 😀

That is made like that .. Any sound, whether you speak or not, skype will catch any audio output coming from your PC. You can't disable it but you can disable the music when you are talking to someone .. 😉

Your audio card has a mixer in it (it can also be called "Stereo Mix", or possibly "Wave Out", "Sum", "What U Hear" or "Loopback" or something similar). If you go into sound properties, there should be a volume slider for it. I don't remember if it's in the recording or the output sound setting. It can be pretty nifty feature for recording (let's say you are recording yourself playing a video game, it would record input from the mike as well as output from the game). One of my old desktops had that feature, but my current one doesn't; I wish it did.

Ok, I've just found out that none of my mic jacks are picking up my mic at all. They're plugged in and everything, just it doesn't pick up my sound when I speak into my mic..anybody know a fix? D:

Expirament with settings in the volume control window (make sure the mic isn't muted) and check that the operating system and skype are set to the right sound input device. Otherwise, if it's a USB mic, maybe reinstall the drivers, but if it worked before, it should still work now.

How do I check if they're on the right sound input device? I've an ASUS motherboard.
