Percentage of MOBO failure rates high?

I recently got back into building PC's. (last PC I built was probably around 04'ish.

Anyway, I just built a new system and went with the MSI PC MATE Z97 and an Intel i7 4770 but I had a hard time deciding which motherboard to go with, and to be honest, I'm still not 100% sure how long this motherboard will last because of the reviews I've been reading about it. Having said that, it seems as though other brands such as ASUS, Gigabyte and ASRock also have the same type of reviews on Newegg.com (DOA, died after a few months, etc..). It seems as though the failure rate on all boards seem quite high just by browsing this site and a few others.

So my question is, what boards are you guys running, have they failed, are you content with yours, etc...

I wonder if there are a lot of failures because it's extremely easy to overclock nowadays and people just aren't careful enough.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I've sworn off Asus boards after 3 of mine have had stupid issues a couple years down the road (USB ports not working, USB issues again, Mobo randomly shutting off). But for as many bad ones as I've had, there are people that swear by them. I think you'll find "bad eggs" among any brand, just like with cars or anything else.
