Perform Scaling with GPU or Display? (Performance wise)

I highly doubt setting either-or will do anything, but I notice that when I put GPU on it looks smoother, but Display makes it look sharper. I'm wondering if this effects any performance. To me, if I put it on GPU, the GPU has to do more due to it making a display itself while if you put it on Display it comes from the monitor, not effecting any internal hardware.

Any idea?

Correct, it doesn't matter.

I play at full resolution, so my images aren't scaled at all.

In NVIDIA Control panel on "Adjust desktop size and position", on the dropdown menu "Perform scaling on:", that is what I'm talking about.

Does GPU or Display effect any performance and does GPU actually make it slower?

So it doesn't matter what I choose? What do you prefer?
