Performance decrease from laptop to desktop?

Hello
I recently built my own pc prior to having a laptop for 4 years. Now with my budget I knew it wouldn't be the fastest, beast computer out there but I thought I would be able to play the games I was playing on my laptop at a higher performance. (Games: Civ V, Minecraft, Team Fortress 2.)

Laptop:
HP Pavilion G6

Desktop:

My Current Problems:
*I cannot play Civ V which I was able to on Laptop
*Minecraft fluctuates from the same performance to worse.
*Team Fortress 2 is playable but decreased.
*Occasionally when I type it takes a second or two for the letters to show up.

Your desktop is missing a graphics card. I'm guessing you're running on integrated graphics? That won't give you very good gaming performance.

What are the exact specs of your laptop?

I'd suspect not having a discrete graphics card may be playing a part.

Yup, you need a GPU. Integrated graphics is fairly useless, especially the rubbish in the old AMD chipsets.
