Some time ago, I played a pirated copy of Far Cry 3 on my PC, because I wanted to check out the game, since I'd read a lot of positive reviews about it and a lot of people had recommended it to me (I had also downloaded and installed all the patches up to 1.05 separately). At that time I was using Windows 7 and the game ran at 60+ FPS at Full HD with all the graphical settings set to Ultra (excluding MSAA). Since I really enjoyed the game, I decided to buy it off Steam. At that point, I had upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I noticed that the game now ran at around 50 FPS at Full HD with the same graphical settings and again, the game was updated to the latest version (1.05). Also, on both operating systems I'd played the game using the same graphics driver (Catalyst 14.12, although now I've updated it to 15.3). So, my question is what could have caused this performance hit of around 10 FPS?
