Hi all,

Just finished building a PC,

AMD FX 8370
Gigabyte 970 MB
32Gb DDR3
GTX 1060
Intel SSD
550W PSU

Fresh install on Windows 10, all working well and here were the results:

I didn't do much else but at the end of the day I noticed Open Hardware Monitor was showing really Low CPU Temps ~16C (previously CPU was ~42C, max 58C)? so today I ran Novabench again and I can't possibly understand what happened as performance decreased substantially:

Any idea what could cause this?

Solution

Two:
1) You put the CPU into low power mode somehow, either in the power settings or through BIOS
2) Your software is actually disk drive speed limited and something is hammering your HDD

(and 3) That software is just buggy mess and you should instead use a more common suite like PCMark)

... Yes that was it.. I installed some software provided with the MB which enabled an 'eco' feature in Bios.. Solved, thanks!
