Performance in 3dMark

Can anyone tell me why most AMD cards have better graphics score in 3dMark than their Nvidia equivalent while they are usually slower than Nvidia in most of the titles! Why AMD have the advantage in 3dMark? What kind of benchmark does 3dMark use?

I don't think that's true at all about the benchmarks, although as far as games go Nvidia has always had better drivers and support for their products. Synthetic benchmarks and actual video games are two completely different things, you should look at game benchmarks instead of things like 3dmark.
