Hello everyone,

I've just installed a 2nd SSD ( Samsung 860 EVO 500GB) and i've got some crazy performance issues now.

When i boot up and get to the loading screen everything becomes really laggy.
Like my pointer goes realllly slow from left to right for example.
Also clicking things takes forever. When i click the windows button it takes 5 seconds for it to load.
I tested on Superposition aswell which normally runs smooth without any stutters, however now it stutters every 5 seconds.

I installed the drive completely new through storagemanagement.

My other specs are
First (boot) SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb.
CPU: i3 8350K
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X
PSU: Corsair RM650x
RAM: 2x 4GB DDR4 2133mhz
MOBO: Asus Prime Z370P

Everything was fine right after installing, i moved my steam folder to the new drive without any problems, no lags at all.
The problem started when i rebooted the PC.
The steam folder is the only thing on the new drive so far btw
.
I tried multiple power 'Slots' on the PSU and multiple Sata slots on the mobo without any improvements.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dean.

Hi superninja,

thank you for taking the time to think with me.
However i already tried all of the sata slots.
The last one i tried which is the one i'm using was the less laggiest, so i stuck to that.
However the lagging/stuttering still persists.

The disk usage is ~20%.

Thanks though.

I tried a restore point but still the same issue.

Yes I have, both SSD's are up to date. Also no errors or anything.

I'm lost here. Thinking the SSD might be faulty or something.
There's not much I haven't tried yet i guess.
