[SOLVED] Performance Issues

Hello! I'm not entirely great with computers, but I understand how they work to an extent. I'm big into gaming, but considerably have FPS lag/stuttering in every single game I play. (Hunt: Showdown/ Apex) I run everything on low settings typically, but still experience problems. I have a 144Hz monitor, but never get 144 FPS and if I do, it lags horribly, so I tend to cap it anyways.

CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 @ 3.00GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX1060
RAM: 16.0 GB
Motherboard: ASRock > Z270M-ITX/ac
Windows (C:) - 232GB

Not sure if there's anything else I should add, but my PC was built in 2017 and if there's any suggested upgrades, I'd be grateful to hear them :) Thank you!

Solution
Looking at the reviews your current build will run this game at around 90 fps at low settings. Apex takes advantage of six cores so my guess is if you want more fps then upgrade your MB and cpu seeing how the current video card prices are at an insane level atm.

Thanks for responding! Would I need to upgrade my motherboard as well? Or is the one I have ok?
You'd have to change up to a different socket seeing how the Intel i7 7 gens are quadcore.

To give you an idea of general cost ...
